The Estimation module

Breakthrough technology that automatically extracts competencies and skills from any full-text document

Did you know ?

90% of the qualitative information that companies have about their employees—from resumes to appraisals, job descriptions, project summaries and more—is unformatted and scattered across different corporate databases ?

Human resources management professionals constantly face the challenge of keeping information current and accurate.

The Estimation Module is proprietary technology designed to make sure that data is continuously updated in real time. It reads and structures thousands of full-text documents instantly and matches the content to your structured skill grid.

The Estimation Module makes human resource information systems successful by enabling them to :

• Capture fresh data on an ongoing basis from internal sources (ranging from employee performance appraisals to project experience) or external sources (such as candidate resumes).
• Provide easy access as a common data source for all corporate stakeholders.
• Automatically extract competencies and skills from full-text documents to create skill dictionaries and competency models.
• Load the latest employee information to link what your people know and need to know—as well as what they can and want to do.
• Position candidate resumes against the company’s competency model to speed recruiting.
• Process more than a hundred document formats, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, Txt, HTML and CSV.

Easy implementation

The Estimation Modules shifts the paradigm of natural language processing. Unlike traditional search engines, our technology does not require any preliminary set-up. The Estimation Module is the first search engine that does not require predefined lexicons, dictionaries or semantic categories.

How The Estimation Module (TEM) supports you

1. You don’t need a formalized competency model before you start a human resource management project.

You can use TEM immediately to identify skills and assign people to jobs or projects. TEM automatically extracts skills from any full-text document (including resumes, evaluation forms, project plans or job descriptions). Then it automatically builds a preliminary human resource management grid with information linked by content and context.

2. Recruiters can find the most valuable candidates before actually reading a single resume.

What if you need to identify talent or find a replacement quickly from among hundreds of resumes? TEM ranks them automatically, based on how closely the candidate matches the skills, experience and other factors your job opening requires.

3. Recruiters save time.

They rapidly identify talented candidates through reliable, powerful full-text analysis. Incoming resumes are automatically linked with the company’s competency model.

4. New hires are integrated more quickly into the organization.

New employees position themselves automatically on the company’s competency model, just by attaching their resume or any document describing their skills, experience or achievements. Then, TEM suggests additional competencies so they can validate and expand their skill profiles instantly. Since they are positioned in the competency system from the first day, new hires can be rapidly assigned to projects. TEM also helps reveal job-related skill gaps and suggests appropriate training programs.

5. Employees keep the company informed as their skills and experience grows.

TEM powers the STEP Employee interface which makes it easy for employees to update their personal skill profiles. STEP Employee is so user-friendly that employees update their profiles in less than 5 minutes. TEM increases the average number of people updating their own profiles to an unprecedented 90% at no extra cost to the company.
