Triviumsoft provides software systems, data collection and analysis services to help organizations manage their most valuable resources…their people. 

The company was founded in 1992 by mathematician Michel Authier, Stanford University professor Michel Serres and Ottawa University professor Pierre Levy. A think-tank for many years, Triviumsoft has gained an exceptional reputation for thought leadership, changing the paradigm of information management and developing breakthrough technologies. Our solutions continue to evolve as we work with hundreds of private and public organizations in North America and Europe. Our clients include Global 500 corporations and companies across all market segments with 1,000 employees and above, including Total, Accenture, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, France Telecom and the Suez Group. 

Our paradigm shift is to visualize the reality of information “as is” without predefining what it looks like. In seconds, our tools scan and—literally—show hundreds of word documents, thousands of Web pages and millions of characters on one single image. This image serves as a basis for interactively exploring, discovering and analyzing information in an objective and unbiased manner. It also reveals “emerging” and “weak” signals, i.e. the really important data buried under the mountain of general information of no interest. 

Applied to human capital management, our technologies show an organization as never before. Breaking away from the traditional database approach to describing and managing people, they represent corporate and individual capability on a single map as a “Tree”. The Corporate Capability Tree reveals how skills are distributed in a company and how well they match current and future business needs. Companies change every day with new hires, promotions, new products and services, and so does the Tree: the Tree changes instantly in response to new data or to simulate any “what if” transformation scenarios (e.g. merger, outsourcing, reorganization, etc.). As a result, the Tree permanently reflects the reality of the company today and enables to simulate possible futures. This image of reality challenges and clarifies the thinking, enabling companies to make faster, better HR decisions based on the reality of the company and its actual business needs. 

The Triviumsoft paradigm shift is also to place employees in the centre of human capital management projects. We designed innovative tools to boost employee involvement and motivation: employees easily update their information any time—in minutes—to tell about their new skills, projects, aspirations and wishes. In return, they automatically receive suggestions for additional career development, apply for posted job openings matching their updated skill sets and find training resources to cover skill gaps. The result is a “win win” relationship between empowered employees on the one hand, and a more informed employer on the other hand.

Our tools start with whatever documentation is available, and quickly create practical, compelling information for use by management and employees. We started marketing our solutions in the United States in October 2003 and established a permanent office in Chicago, Illinois.
